September President’s PRoclaimer Message

By FPRA Orlando President Valerie Moses

It is hard to believe that the 2023-2024 board year is officially here! As your newly installed Chapter President, I am incredibly grateful to serve alongside such a dedicated group of communications practitioners. From professional development to lifelong friendships, FPRA has given me so much over the years, and my hope is to create that same impact for our members during my presidency.

This year’s theme for the association is Focus Forward, which will play an important role in the goals of our chapter. In our profession, one of the biggest challenges we face is the constant state of change and transition in the ways we communicate. One of our greatest priorities as a chapter is to empower our community with the tools they need to navigate these changes. Looking ahead, we will continue our focus on relevant, world-class programming that will help our members keep up with our evolving landscape.

Another priority for our chapter is to foster a sense of inclusion and belonging. Orlando has many professional associations to choose from, but our people are what set us apart. We have a diverse group of professionals from a variety of industries and perspectives. Our events and networking opportunities will help members forge meaningful relationships and learn from one another, while having some fun along the way.

Later this month, our board of directors will meet for our annual board retreat, where we will focus on strategic planning for the year ahead. On September 27, the chapter is hosting a professional development program on Investor Relations with our friends at Darden Restaurants. Learn more and register here.

Being installed as Chapter President is truly an honor, and I want to thank our members for entrusting me with this role. I am grateful to all of the leaders who have served before me, and I hope to continue to build upon your legacy in the year to come.

I look forward to collaborating with this year’s board of directors and our membership as a whole. I can’t wait to see what we accomplish together!

Valerie Moses
